101 Ranch

This painting was part of a collection of twelve that were done by Oklahoma female artists of Ponca City area female personalities interacting with or painted near some of the area's most famous historical sites.  The collection hung for a season at the Women's Health Center in Ponca City.  I was honored to be asked to do one of these paintings and was thrilled to be assigned this setting.  The ranch's history has always been interesting to me and I was tied to it emotionally as I attended the 101 Rodeos as a child.  It was appropriate that Echo Blanton & her beautiful horse be chosen to model for this painting as she & her husband are Chair Persons of the 101 Historical Society.
